Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a psycho-social intervention with the goal of improving mental health. Utilizing CBT techniques, Dr. Jones will assist you in recognizing automatic thoughts and cognitive distortions which may lead to disturbing feelings/catastrophizing, emotional dysregulation, and disruptive/self-defeating behaviors. Dr. Jones received training and certification in CBT under Aaron T. Beck who has been referred to as “the father of cognitive behavioral therapy”. Dr. Jones routinely combines therapy types, for maximum effectiveness and to most benefit her clients.
